Club Project List

Here’s our Club’s full Project List for 2011/12:

  1. 1. Bootup Internet Cafes;

Funded and installed by RCSC, we’ve put in over 40 PCs in 10 centres in 10 years.

  1. 2. Wrapt with Love; www.artsandcraftsnsw.com.au/ wrap.htm

Since 2009 RCSC has lead the co-ordination of knitted wraps produced by individuals through NSW.  These are sent to the poor in third world countries.

  1. 3. Homeless Street Soccer; www.streetsoccer.org.au

Since 2005 RCSC helped establish the Sydney branch, including the venue, helped organise events and functions on a weekly basis and will help manage this year’s Nationals in Sydney in mid-2011.

  1. 4. Australia Day Wheelchair Race, The Rocks

For 10 years RCSC has been providing marshalls to support this major Australia Day event in Sydney’s Rocks area.

  1. 5. Buddy walk;

An initiative of the Downs Syndrome Association; RCSC assists each year with marshalling of walkers and carers through the city to a picnic, once a year.

  1. 6. Vinnies Night Patrol;

Since 2011, RCSC member have been feeding the homeless on Sydney’s Street – one night a month.

  1. 7. Millers Point Partnership;

Since 2000 RCSC has supported this corporate and community Partnership in the Miller Point area.

  1. 8. Sydney Children’s Hospital;

Our annual Regatta is in its 16th year and has raised over A$2.6mil with a large share of these monies given to SCH.

  1. 9. SOLAS (fund to assist sailing fraternity in times of tragedy);

In 2010 RCSC Regatta Committee together with the CYC started supporting the SOLAS project for sailors lost at sea.

10.  King George V Centre.

For more than 10 years RCSC has been supporting this community centre by providing funding for the annual community Christmas party.

11.  Fort St Primary

RCSC provides continuing assistance, through the provision of PCs and trophies.

 

12.  Darling House

RCSC furnished this property and maintains ongoing support when required.

13.  Stepping Stone House;

For 10 years RCSC has been supporting this refuge for teenagers in Sydney.

14.  Pride of Workmanship (POW)

Each year RCSC selects candidates for POW recognition.

15.  Police Officer of the Year;

RCSC’s Vocational Committee started supporting this initiative in 2010.

16.  Solomon Islands www.sydneycoverotary.com

RCSC has been supporting communities in Gizo in the Solomon Islands with new buildings, current projects include housing healthcare, education and technology assistance.

  1. 17. Ranfurly Library;

RCSC has been collecting and sending books to Africa and other countries for over 10 years.

  1. 18. Kits for Kids;

RCSC sends dictionaries and educational supplies to under resourced schools in Solomon Is. Western province.

  1. 19. Shelterbox

Each year RCSC donates money for Shelter boxes for disaster relief.

  1. 20. Baniyala and other Indigenous projects;

Since 2006 RCSC Members have helped construct new buildings, re-introduce teaching, health services, jobs for the young community in the far north of Australia.

  1. 21. Rotaract Liaison;

RCSC is a joint sponsor of Sydney City Rotaract Club and maintains a close relationship with Rotaract Members.

  1. 22. Ambassadorial Scholars

RCSC provides Counsellors for students each year.

  1. 23. GSE inbound and outbound teams;

This year, Our District hosted a Vocational Training Team from D7070 Canada and sent a Group Study Exchange team in return.

  1. 24. Peace Scholars

RCSC nominated the successful District 9750

candidate for last year’s Peace Scholarship (2010).

  1. 25. YEP

Each year RCSC co-ordinates outbound and in-bound YEP students.

26.  RYPEN

Each year RCSC sends students to RYPEN and also assists at District level.

27.  RYLA

Each year RCSC sends students to RYLA and also assists at District level.

28.  MUNA

RCSC usually sponsors 3 teams to MUNA each year.

29.  NYSF

Each year RCSC sponsors students to attend NYSF.

30.  Club Member’s work in District  9750

RCSC Members make a significant contribution at District level each year with 17 Members actively assisting during 2010/11.
