With a total enrolment of just under 100, Fort St School has students with a wide variety of backgrounds. Mostly, they are local Millers Point residents and city dwellers. Some travel to the city with working parents, to be picked up from after school care on the way home from work. There are also a number of temporary enrolments, who are visitors from overseas. Being a small school, all the students K-6 know each other well and play happily together in the playground.
The School is located on Observatory Hill, close to where Rotary Club of Sydney Cove has its weekly meetings at Circular Quay. The relationship between Rotary and the School goes back a long way. Rotary has assisted with school facilities and projects, currently supplying a bus to take students on an annual country camp, which for many is the highlight of the year.
