The Rotary Club of Sydney Cove has an annual program for recognising people in the community who go above and beyond what is required in carrying out the duties of their job or profession. These people take real pride in how they perform their roles and on the positive effect they create with those around them but may not be recognised in any other way.
The program is known as “The Pride of Workmanship Awards”. Interviews are held with nominees and the merits of the nominations are considered by the Pride of Workmanship Committee and members of the interviewing panels. Awardees are presented with certificates at a Rotary meeting.
The standard of recipients has been high and they have been from a wide variety of jobs and professions. This is a reflection of our belief that the people in many jobs often make life more pleasant and easier for others, but do not always get rewarded monetarily or in other ways for their dedication and commitment.
