03 April 2020 - Justice Michael Kirby | ‘’Protecting Religious Belief whilst defending Minorities and Non-Believers‘’

In these remarks, whilst respecting the views of people who adhere to religion (as I do), I will explore the                              problems of protecting religious beliefs without A Charter of Rights that protects people of other religions and                        of no religion.

It is possible that the Religious Discrimination Act will either have been withdrawn by 3 April, all will have                              been passed, all will have been referred to a Senate committee. In either event, it will probably still be                                  relevant to reflect on this controversial topic.
